EXCELLENTBased on 14 reviewsVerifiedMichael M.2024-08-10100% Recommend Chikanda Safaris & Adventure On our trip, they took us to the Kawetire View Point with the most amazing view of the Great Rift Valley and also to Lake Ngozi (the second largest crater lake in Africa) inside the Mt. Rungwe Nature Forest Reserve where we enjoyed hiking for about 1.7 km to the Top viewing point and lots of nature inside the forest and the cool breeze of the Forest Canopies during the walk. The guide (Mr. Amos) was very knowledgeable about the history of the town, the Lake and other sites/cultures in Tanzania, was easy to get a long with and demonstrated profound passion for what he does and kindness.VerifiedLetisha M2024-08-07Simply the best We had an amazing experience in Mbeya, Chikanda Safaris did an amazing job organizing hikes to Mount Rungwe, Lake Ngosi and the View point at the Great Rift . Our tour guide Amos was so Patient and amazing. We will definitely come back for another amazing experience.VerifiedBálint D2024-03-17Great hike! Very good service and price (80 000 TSH for Ngozi Crater by foot and public transport). Godwin is a great guide and the Crater very impressive. Don't miss it, and don't miss Mbeya.Verifiedpowl_49102024-01-08Great trip to Lake Ngozi We went to Ngozi Lake with the company. The guide (Clever William) and the driver (Gilbert) picked us from our hotel. For the whole trip, they told us interesting stories about the nature and could answer us every question we had. It was a great choice to go here and a great luck, that we had Clever and Gilbert with us, because the were so nice and funny! I hope to see them again :)VerifiedBeige672024-01-01Wonderful hike Godwin led us up Mount Mbeya. Very professional and with a lot of detailed knowledge of nature and culture. Our hike to the Ngozi Crater Lake viewpoint followed by a visit to the Great Rift Valley View Point offered breathtaking vistas. The informative commentary from the guides elevated the entire experience. Highly recommend Chikanda Safari and Adventure! This review would have been 5 stars if the 2nd vehicle was in better condition.VerifiedMartin Mwaura2023-08-12Had an Amazing Experience Took a solo trip to Mbeya and Chikanda Safaris did an amazing job organizing hikes to Mount Rungwe, Mbeya Peak and Lake Ngosi. The guiding was top notch…very hospitable and accomodating. Very fair charges as well. Don’t worry if travelling solo…your photography/vlogging needs are very well covered 😉. I’d recommend Chikanda…no doubtVerifiedAndreas F2023-06-10Trip to Ngosi Crater Lake I took a one day trip with Amos of Chikanda Safaris to Ngosi Crater Lake on 9 June 2003. It was an unforgettable experience, profesionally organised and led. We drove up the hill from Uyole, very difficult driving but Amos mastered the road perfectly. We left the car at the boundary of the nature park and hiked about 2 km up hill through the mountain rain forest. Saw huge wild banana plants. Amos showed me how to extract water from banana leaves as a survival tip in case running out of water. We reached the view point above Lake Ngosi at about 10 a.m., just in time before the clouds came up and covered the crater. Beautiful view into the crater and the lake. On the way back down Amos stopped the car several times to meet my birding desire. We saw large Hornbills and colorful Sunbirds. To sumarize: Highly recommendable safari organiser.
